A graduate of the University of Glasgow with a keen interest in international cooperation, development and aid. Coming from a multinational background, and speaking 4 languages (fluent in German & English, good French level, and Spanish) I have had the opportunity to travel a lot, as well as volunteer in oversea countries on a variety of community awareness, development and conservation projects (Thailand, Seychelles, Mexico). This has given me personal insight in issues across the globe and further on enhanced my interest in the sector of sustainable development and international cooperation.
Before starting to work at OCTA Innovation, I was very intrigued by the work they do in the fields of sustainable energy, policy development, international cooperation, research and innovation. Since having started to work in the Brussels Office of OCTA Innovation, I have learned the importance of innovation in the European Union. In development cooperation, a successful development strategy needs to build on extensive innovation capacities to foster growth in a region. Innovation is ultimately important in all stages of development, playing different roles at different stages in the process. I now have the opportunity to work with the OCTA Innovation Team, assisting with various tasks and work on special projects as assigned, and gain valuable insight into this Organizations work.
